Might you be interested in sharing the upper portion of an awesome house? I have a lovely large 3 level home on 19th Avenue, west of Commercial Drive, with one nice furnished bedroom, coming available for June 1,  2012.  It's exactly 20 minutes on one bus from downtown.
 
We have a wonderful furnished attic room with two four by four foot skylights (one of which opens) and an awesome view of the North Shore mountains, (loads of light from all directions). The room is best for an out-of-town student, working professional or traveler without much stuff.

We have a washer and dryer (the line in warm weather), a large backyard with a BBQ, a hot tub, and an organic garden. The house is our sanctuary. It’s full of plants, and has a huge, bright kitchen. It’s beautiful, peaceful and homey.
 
We are nonsmokers (not outside smokers) and nondrinkers (at least very light drinkers, in the house), and semi-vegetarians. We cook chicken and fish at home, but no red meat or pork inside the house.  However, we do have barbecues in the backyard.Cook anything you like outside!

We are into media, music, the arts, alternative healing and yoga. The household consists of 20-somethings to 40-somethings.
 
The place is best suited for one person. The house  has  3 levels and a separate lower floor. 
 
My name is Cher.  I do therapeutic healing work here in the house in the daytime when the others are out. I’m also a professional photographer and a musician.
 
The other long term roommates are: Brad, who lives on the main floor, works during the daytime and is gone every weekend (he is also a children’s entertainer), Andy (a carpenter/handyman) in his late 20’s, and myself. 

We have a fuzzy cat named Zoey. She’s our love ambassador. She loves people but isn’t keen on other animals, so, sorry, No More Pets.
 
The rent would be $595 plus  utilities, total $657 for a whole month for one person.  Internet would be included. Phone would be your responsibility.  Shorter stays would be negotiated.
